That’s why we’re excited to share that a new evolution of the Active Pour Tap is on the horizon. We’ve been working behind the scenes on a refreshed design that reimagines how you enjoy your freshly brewed Pinter beer, which will soon be phased into new Pinters.
The updated tap is built from the ground up to create a cleaner, splash-free pour with easier handling. We’re always working to further streamline the design so you can enjoy your beer without worrying about stray drops or tricky cleaning routines.
If you’ve used the Active Pour Tap 1, you may notice some differences in material. The product development team has considered the entire design end to end - optimising how the tap works. Some materials have changed, but the focus on quality hasn’t. The new polymer handles are engineered for strength, comfort, and precision, ensuring the tap performs better, for longer.
You might not notice most of the changes at first glance, they’re under the surface, making the tap smoother and more reliable in use. One key functional difference you’ll see is a new hold-open function which makes easy work of low pressure pours and cleaning the tap.
What’s New?
- New Flow: Expect a clean, splashless in-glass stream with no dribble
- Less is More: Simplicity of design means much more robust product and straightforward cleaning. That means no more yeast shield!
- Details Matter: The main tap seal has been optimized to ensure easy insertion and extraction from the Pinter.
- Nice Grip: Expect a more snugly fitting handle.
- Hold my Beer: The new hold-open function allows you to lock open the handle for easier final pours when pressure is low.

Can I buy one?

Why have the materials changed?
We’ve refined the tap design from top to bottom. The tap collar has been changed from ABS to POM for greater strength. The internal seals have been selected from food grade rubber and silicone. The new polymer handles deliver the same premium feel with improved strength, precision, and long-term performance.
Will the new tap work differently from mine?
In its core functionality of tapping, the new tap is essentially identical. However, we have introduced subtle refinements at every stage which should make tapping easier, more intuitive and more fun. You’ll also notice the new hold-open feature at low pressure, but everyday use is familiar and reliable.
Is my current tap now out of date?
No — your Active Pour Tap 1 still works perfectly. These updates simply improve performance for new taps.
What’s different about the new tap?
Many changes are internal — you won’t see them, but they improve reliability, precision, and consistency.
Is the tap backwards compatible with older Pinter models?
The tap is not compatible with Pinter 1, but is compatible with Pinter 2 and will be sold as standard with Pinter 3
