PINTER PRESENTS: THE INTERNATIONAL BACKYARD BAR AWARDS


GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS


This competition is organised by The Greater Good Fresh Brewing Co Ltd T/A Pinter, 11a Uplands Business Park, Blackhorse Lane, London E17 5QN (“Pinter”).


If you have any questions, please email hello@pinter.co.uk . By participating, Entrants agree to and accept the following General Terms and Conditions. 


Pinter reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions or cancel this competition at any stage and accepts no liability to the Entrants as a consequence.


1. ELIGIBILITY


Entry to this competition is open to persons: 

- who are aged at least 21 years old on July 22nd 2024;  

- who are full-time residents of the contiguous United States and the District of Columbia (excludes Alaska and Hawaii), or the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

- who are not employees or family members of Pinter. 


Pinter will ask all shortlisted Entrants to provide proof of age, identity, bar ownership, and eligibility. Those unable to do so will be disqualified from the competition.



2. ENTRY


Entry opens on Monday July 22nd 2024 and closes on Sunday August 31st 2024 at 23:59 local time. 


Submissions received outside of this timeframe will not be considered. 


Pinter cannot guarantee continuous, uninterrupted or secure access to the competition platform pinter.co.uk/backyardbar and is not responsible for any disruption to the competition or the website due to technical problems or otherwise due to events outside of its reasonable control.


All Entrants must complete all required fields on the entry form, providing their contact details, including name, email address, postal address and mobile contact number.  


If an Entrant fails to comply with a request for proof of identity, or provides false or misleading information, Pinter may at its discretion disqualify the Entrant from the competition, or, where appropriate allocate the prize to another Entrant. 

 

3. HOW TO ENTER


One Entry Per Person. No purchase necessary. A purchase will not increase your odds of winning.


Entrants must upload at least one photo of their BackYard Bar and submit this via The International BackYard Bar Awards webpage pinter.co.uk/backyardbar. Photos must be in JPEG or PNG format and should be 300 DPI. Additional video or photo will be accepted but at least one photo is required.


To qualify, the Entry must fulfil the following criteria (the “Entry”):  


- Include the name of the bar

- Include the Entrant’s full name 

- Include the Entrant’s email address

- Include the Entrant’s postal address 

- Include the Entrant’s mobile contact number

- Include the Entrant’s date of birth

- Include up 100 words outlining the inspiration behind the build (including why it was built, how it was built, unique design features and approximate cost)

- Include one clear, unedited image of the bar, as outlined above

- Include what they’d name their beer.

- Not infringe the rights of any other party or contain any trademarked characters or logos

- Not contain defamatory, obscene, offensive or any other unsuitable material

- Be suitable to be published and used online, on social media, as well as Pinter’s websites 


Entrants must give assurances that any Entry submitted is related to a bar wholly owned by the entrant and agrees to indemnify Pinter against any claim if this is not the case.


Entrants must complete all essential fields of the entry form. These include the name of the bar, an image of the bar, the inspiration behind the bar, as well as the Entrant’s name, email address, postal address, mobile contact number and date of birth.


Entrants also consent to their images being used in perpetuity by Pinter and its associated agencies for all publicity purposes, including but not limited to advertising, PR, social media.


Any Entries not following these instructions or meeting the above criteria will be immediately disqualified. Pinter reserves the right to disqualify late, misdirected, incomplete, corrupted, lost, illegible or invalid entries.


No feedback will be provided to unsuccessful entrants.


4. ENDORSEMENTS


Entrants will have the opportunity to seek endorsements from friends and family or other visitors of their bar. Endorsements can be submitted by anyone that is a resident of the same country as the entrant. Endorsers do not have to have attended the Entrant’s bar.

Entrants will be emailed with a link to do so after entering. Endorsements (also called voting) will take place via the competition webpage pinter.co.uk/backyardbar and endorsers are only eligible to submit their endorsement once. Endorsements can be submitted from July 22 2024 to September 2nd 2024. Pinter reserves the right to disqualify Entrants found to be in breach of voting rules and/or where Pinter deems that there have been voting irregularities. 



5.  SHORTLISTING AND FINAL SELECTION

Eligible Entries will be assessed and shortlisted by Pinter throughout the duration of the competition. 


In the event that Pinter receives more Entries than it is possible to assess within the timeframes set out above, only the first 1,000 Entries based on date received may be deemed eligible.


Shortlisted Entrants will be contacted between Monday September 2nd 2024 and Thursday September 5th 2024 and requested to submit a 30 second “walk-through” video of their BackYard Bar for judging purposes by Tuesday September 10th 2024. Shortlisted Entrants agree for their photo and video content to be shared with Pinter’s judging panel, and utilised online, in print, social and broadcast media, as well as Pinter’s websites in perpetuity. Shortlisted Entrants also agree that limited information such as name (first and surname), age, region and town/city may be published in conjunction with any above-described use. 


Any shortlisted Entrant that does not submit video content ahead of the deadline outline will be disqualified.


At this stage proof of Entrants’ age, identity and eligibility will be requested.


Pinter will confirm eligible entries that will be put forward to the final. 


Pinter reserves the right to alter the dates detailed above if deemed necessary and accepts no liability as a consequence.


6. THE FINALISTS - VOTING AND JUDGING

The 10 Finalists will be contacted between Wednesday September 11th 2024 at 00:00 and Friday September 13th 2024 at 23:59 before their Entries are put forward for judging panel review between Monday September 23rd 2024 and Tuesday September 27th 2024.


During this period, the judging panel will score the 10 Finalists’ entries. Judges will take the following into consideration:

- Originality of concept

- Interesting and inspiring features (design or additional touches)

- Strength of the story behind why the Backyard bar was created

- Evidence that the BackYard bar brings people together for extraordinary beer experiences


Finalists agree to partake in media interviews and photography requested by Pinter during the period from Saturday September 14th 2024 to Tuesday October 1st 2024. Pinter retains the right to disqualify Finalists who decline to do so, and request support from the Finalists for media opportunities at a later date.


Pinter reserves the right to alter the dates detailed above if deemed necessary and accepts no liability to the Entrants as a consequence.


7. THE WINNERS


The Grand Prize, Runners Up and Notable Entry Winners will be decided through a combination of the public vote and input and judging panel scores. Judging panel scores will not be shared, and Pinter’s decision will be final. Pinter reserves the right to substitute for an alternative Winner selection method at its absolute discretion.


The Winner will be contacted by Wednesday September 27th 2024. 


All Winners agree to partake in media interviews and an official video and photography shoot requested by Pinter during the period from Wednesday September 14th 2024 to Tuesday October 1st 2024. Pinter retains the right to request support from the Winner for media opportunities at a later date.


The Winners agree for this content to be utilised online, in print, social and broadcast media, as well as Pinter’s websites in perpetuity. The Winner agrees that limited information such as name (first and surname), age, region and town/city may be published in conjunction with any above described use without additional compensation. Pinter retains the right to disqualify the Winner if they decline to abide by these conditions.


Pinter reserves the right to alter the dates detailed above if deemed necessary and accepts no liability to the Entrants as a consequence.


8. PRIZES


Subject to compliance with these terms and conditions, the Winners will receive the following prizes:

Grand Prize Winner (between the three finalists)

- $10,000 (7,800 GBP)

- 1x Ooni Oven

- Name and brew your own beer 

- 4 Pinters to share your beer with friends


No other alternative prizes are available. Prizes cannot be transferred or sold by winners. 

The potential Grand Prize winner will be notified via email within 2 days of the winner selection date. The potential winner must respond to the notification within 2 days and may be required to complete and return an affidavit of eligibility, a liability/publicity release, and any other necessary documents within 3 days of initial notification. Failure to respond within the specified time frame or provide the required documents may result in disqualification and selection of an alternate winner.

The winners are solely responsible for all federal, state, and local taxes associated with the acceptance and use of all prizes. Pinter will issue an IRS Form 1099-MISC to the winner for the value of the cash prize. The winner must provide Pinter with valid identification and a valid taxpayer identification number or social security number before the prize is awarded.

9. RELEASE

By participating in the contest, entrants agree to release and hold harmless Pinter, its affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising and promotion agencies, and their respective directors, officers, employees, and agents from any and all liability for any injuries, losses, or damages of any kind arising from or in connection with the contest or the acceptance, possession, or use of the $10,000 cash prize.

10. OTHER


Pinter’s decision at all stages of this competition is final. No correspondence will be entered into.


Pinter reserves the right to disqualify any entry which breaches any of these Terms and Conditions, or to withhold any element or all of the prizes in their entirety if in its opinion entries do not reach the required standard.


Pinter, its sub-contractors, agencies and/or any other organization associated with this competition cannot accept any responsibility whatsoever for any technical failure or malfunction or any other problem with any server, Internet access, system or otherwise which may result in any entry being lost or not properly registered or recorded. 

The odds of winning depends on the number of entries.


Pinter reserves the right to change or cancel the competition at any time.


This contest does not require the purchase of alcohol or any other product.

The contest is subject to all applicable federal, state, and local laws, rules and regulations.



11. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS


Entrants retain the copyright in their Entries but grant to Pinter a perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to publish (across all media) and post the entry online and on any other platforms not yet envisaged. The license will be valid worldwide and will be deemed to include all the necessary rights and permissions to enable such use by Pinter to fulfil the Prizes and to complete the administration for this competition.


12. PERSONAL DATA

Any personal information communicated to Pinter by Entrants will be used solely for the purposes of administering the competition. Pinter undertakes not to share any personal information with third parties, except those involved in the administration of the competition. Personal data provided to Pinter when entering this competition may be used for contacting the Entrant in relation to the competition only and will not be associated with any information Pinter may have previously collected from the Entrant.


The Controller of the Data is Pinter, and the Processor is Pinter. Pinter hereby undertakes to process the data communicated by the Entrants in accordance with applicable provisions relative to the processing of personal data. 


Entrants have the right to (i) access their personal data, (ii) require that it be corrected, updated, or deleted and (iii) ask Pinter to send them a copy of their personal data in a format commonly used and machine readable. Pinter will consider these requests in accordance with applicable law and may also verify the identity of the Entrants for the purpose of processing these requests.


Entrants who oppose the use of their details for the purpose of this competition will not be eligible to participate.


Entrants may exercise their rights free of charge by making a request sent to hello@pinter.co.uk.


WHAT TYPE OF PERSONAL INFORMATION IS COLLECTED?

Entrants will be asked to provide:

  1. Their name 

  2. Their email address

  3. Their postal address 

  4. Their mobile contact number

  5. Their date of birth


The legal basis for processing personal data is consent; this consent is supplied by the Entrant. 

HOW WILL THE INFORMATION BE USED?

Pinter will only use personal data provided for the purposes of administering the competition unless entrant opts in to other marketing. Pinter will delete Entrants’ data once the competition has been fulfilled and all promotional work completed. 

WILL MY INFORMATION BE SHARED WITH ANYONE ELSE?

Pinter uses third party organizations to help administer and run the competition in accordance with our instructions. These include but are not limited to GOLD79 for competition planning, content production and media relations, and Pilothouse Digital for advertising.

We may disclose your personal data where Pinter believes it is compelled to do so by law; in particular for the prevention or detection of crime or the capture or prosecution of offenders.

Pinter reserves the right to modify this privacy policy at any time. Any changes will be effective immediately upon posting of the revised privacy policy on our website. Your continued participation in the contest after the posting of changes constitutes your acceptance of such changes.

13. CONTACT


In the event that Pinter wishes to contact you in connection with your Entry we will do so via an email or by phone with a follow-up e-mail. 


To obtain a winner list, which is available 7 days after the contest, mail a self-addressed stamped envelope to: Pinter, 11a Uplands Business Park, Blackhorse Lane, London E17 5QN. Winner list requests must be received within 60 days of contest end. 


These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the United Kingdom.
