In a big moment for the future of Pinter, we’ve now added a new kind of drink to our range - the hard seltzer! Why? We wanted to elevate the Pinter experience by introducing a sophisticated beverage crafted with the same dedication, precision, and expertise as our award-winning craft beers and ciders. Create a delicious, low-calorie, and light-bodied alcoholic seltzer, earning its place alongside the cherished creations of craft beer aficionados and cocktail connoisseurs.
The Importance of a Good Hopping Technique
With Pinter’s Seltzer Series, proper hopping technique will be essential to get the full flavour and achieve the best hard seltzer - for example, you definitely want the full peach hard seltzer punch that’s intended. This blog will give you a few tips to maximise your hard seltzer experience.
Hopper use as stated in our Tips & Tricks section:
If you have a Pinter Pack Hopper, add this just before you detach the Brewing Dock. It is far easier to add a Hopper when the Brewing Dock is connected, and any earlier and you will lose more of the hoppy goodness! If you find that the hop flavour can be a bit much for your tastes, we'd recommend extra conditioning as opposed to putting the Hopper in earlier; this way you get more control over your Fresh Beer.
The above is the same for our brand new Seltzer Series; if you add the Hopper too soon, you will likely lose out on much of the beautiful Lemon & Lime and Peach goodness. This is because the contents of the Hopper are typically denser than the other contents inside the Pinter, be it beer, cider, or definitely hard seltzer. When you add the Hopper, the contents initially will drop straight down inside the Pinter - if it’s still in the Brewing stage much of this will get lost in the Brewing Dock whereas, if hopping right before undocking, all will be well and it will have time to disperse naturally during conditioning.
Final Tips
You can try hopping after undocking but you ideally need to have the Pinter facing vertically - this is tricky without the Brewing Dock still attached. We recommend hopping with it still connected and then immediately undocking afterwards.
Sometimes it may seem that your Hopper isn’t emptying properly - bear this can be a sign that your Pinter was slightly overfilled. That said, slowly unscrewing the Hopper can often allow everything to drop down.
We hope you're excited as we are to try a brand new hard seltzer in your Pinter!
